This Privacy Policy explains how WavHive ("WavHive," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data when you use our platform at wavhive.com and the WavHive iOS app (together, the "Platform").

By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

1.1 Account Information

  • Name and display name
  • Email address
  • Encrypted authentication credentials and session identifiers
  • Profile information you choose to provide

1.2 Music and Submission Data

  • Audio file uploads and related metadata (for example BPM, key, genre, title)
  • Submission notes, messages, and feedback exchanged on the Platform
  • Contact and sharing preferences

1.3 Usage and Device Data

  • IP address, browser type, operating system, and approximate location
  • Pages visited, session duration, clicks, and feature usage events
  • Performance and error diagnostics

  • AWS (Amazon Web Services): File storage and delivery infrastructure
  • MongoDB: Database hosting
  • Resend: Transactional email delivery
  • Vercel: Application hosting and performance infrastructure
  • Google Analytics: Aggregated analytics and usage measurement

We may also disclose data when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and platform security.

5. Data Retention

  • Account data is retained while your account is active.
  • Uploaded files and related metadata are retained while your account remains active.
  • After account deletion, personal data and files are removed from active systems within 30 days, except where longer retention is required by law.
  • Backups are retained for a limited period before secure deletion cycles complete.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access and receive a copy of your personal data
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your personal data
  • Request restriction of processing
  • Object to certain processing activities

You can delete your account directly in the WavHive iOS app (Profile → Delete Account) or by emailing privacy@wavhive.com. Deleting your account removes your account and associated personal data from active systems as described in Data Retention above. We may need to verify your identity before completing email requests.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers in accordance with applicable data protection law.

9. Children's Privacy

WavHive is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us so we can remove it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above and provide notice where required.
